Transmutación Colectiva: the artwork of Héctor Rafael
The Puerto Rican Arts Alliance presents Transmutación Colectiva by Héctor Rafael, a Puerto Rican artist from Cidra. Through oil paintings of the male figure, Rafael challenges masculinity as a social construct and explores shifting views on gender and sexuality with bold, homoerotic imagery.

Colonial Portraits, Inc.
Colonial Portraits, Inc. (Retrato del Colonizado) is an album of reproduced portraits by Puerto Rican masters—works that shaped the face and identity of the Puerto Rican people. Thirty teens and two teaching artists from Chicago’s Black and Brown neighborhoods collaborated with a curator to explore the portraits’ historical and cultural significance.
