Advanced Ensemble

This course can only be entered by audition or by recommendation/invitation of one of the teachers. This course focuses on learning a variety of exciting repertoire from traditional Latin, popular music and classical repertoire. It explores advanced techniques for each instrument that will push your music performance to the best of each student’s ability. The LMP offers scholarship opportunities to those who participate, therefore, it is required that students who participate in the LMP participate in a variety of activities throughout the year and attend rehearsals on a regular basis. Parents must also be involved/volunteer with some PRAA related activities.

Music Education Manager & Instructor

Zabdiel Santiago, Music Education Manager & Instructor, is a Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico graduate with advanced studies in music education and piano performance. With over 20 years of teaching and directing ensembles, he now leads PRAA’s Latin Music Project, overseeing curriculum, school programming, and inspiring award-winning young musicians.

Music Instructor

Benjamin Laboy Ruiz, cuatrista and composer from Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, is an award-winning musician celebrated for advancing Puerto Rican folk music worldwide. A graduate of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and ESMUC in Barcelona, he has performed internationally, composed acclaimed works, and collaborated with renowned orchestras, ensembles, and artists.
