About
Zabdiel is a graduate of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, and continued his master's studies at the Inter Americana University of Puerto Rico, with a concentration on Music Education and Piano performance. He has also participated in multiple master music workshops under the direction of renowned musicians like Michael Camilo, Oscar Stagnaro, Orlando Laureano, Danilo Perez, Mariza Garcia, and others.
He worked as a music teacher at the Department of Education of Puerto Rico for over 10 years, creating multiple Latin ensembles like Steel band, “trovadores,” bell choir, and marching band that perform throughout the island of Puerto Rico. On numerous occasions, many of his past students have been award recipients of trova and band competitions. Zabdiel also worked for 10 years as the director of the music departments for numerous churches and other non-profit organizations (CIIPAP) in Puerto Rico. For the last six years, Zabdiel has managed the PRAA Latin Music Project program, including being a principal music instructor and overseeing curriculum and school programming.
Zabdiel Santiago, Music Education Manager & Instructor, is a Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico graduate with advanced studies in music education and piano performance. With over 20 years of teaching and directing ensembles, he now leads PRAA’s Latin Music Project, overseeing curriculum, school programming, and inspiring award-winning young musicians.
