At the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance, we are deeply honored and grateful to receive support from Amazon Music as part of their investment in Latino youth and the future of creativity in our communities. This support is about more than funding. It is an affirmation that young people, their stories, their artistry, and their dreams matter.

Every day at PRAA, we see the transformational power of music and the arts in the lives of young people across Chicago. We see students discover confidence through performance. We see families reconnect with culture and identity through music. We see young creatives begin to imagine futures for themselves that once may have felt out of reach.

Too often, students who show interest in music, dance, visual arts, production, media, or other creative fields are encouraged to treat their passions as hobbies instead of possibilities. Yet the creative economy is real. It is growing. And it requires talented, culturally grounded, innovative young people who can shape the future of music, media, storytelling, design, performance, and artistic expression.

As adults, educators, and families, we must continue to uplift and encourage young artists. We must create spaces where curiosity is nurtured, talent is developed, and creativity is viewed not as an extracurricular activity, but as a pathway toward leadership, opportunity, and economic mobility.

The support from Amazon Music will help PRAA continue to provide accessible music and arts education programming for youth and families throughout Chicago. Through initiatives like our Latin Music Project, students not only learn artistic skills but they develop confidence, discipline, collaboration, cultural pride, and career exposure connected to the broader creative economy.

For some students, this journey may lead to becoming professional musicians, producers, designers, sound engineers, educators, or performers. For others, the arts will become the foundation that helps them lead with creativity and confidence in whatever path they pursue.

Either way, investing in the arts is investing in people.

We thank Amazon Music for believing in the importance of Latino youth, arts education, and cultural expression. Together, we can continue building a future where young creatives are seen, supported, and empowered to follow their passion.

And to every young artist out there: your creativity matters! Keep going!
