PRAA is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Part-Time Facility Assistant to support the daily care, readiness, and presentation of our spaces. This position plays an important role in ensuring that classrooms, galleries, rehearsal areas, and event spaces are clean, organized, safe, and prepared for programs and community use. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining welcoming environments and brings a respectful, collaborative approach to working with staff, artists, students, families, and visitors.
- Open, inspect, and prepare classrooms, event spaces, galleries, and shared areas for daily operations and programs.
- Set up and break down tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies for classes, meetings, performances, and community events.
- Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming common areas, restrooms, entrances, storage rooms, and workspaces.
- Complete routine walkthroughs to identify safety, maintenance, or cleanliness issues and report them promptly.
- Restock janitorial, restroom, office, and program supplies; receive and organize deliveries.
- Assist with basic facility tasks such as minor repairs, replacing supplies, locking/unlocking spaces, and supporting vendors or contractors.
- Provide courteous support to staff, teaching artists, students, families, and visitors, especially during busy program and event times.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in facilities support, maintenance, janitorial services, or building operations preferred.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and respond to changing daily priorities.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic familiarity with cleaning supplies, hand tools, and safe work practices.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed for events and programming.
